Positive: I liked that the desk clerk reached out to me when check-in deadline was fast approaching. I had called and left messages earlier, but apparently the wrong number was put on Booking.com. There was confusion, but Anthony stayed until I arrived at 9:30 pm. This is a Bed'n'Breakfast, not a traditional Hotel.
Negative: Breakfast. It's not that I didn't completely not like, it was different than I was used to. The fruit cup was watermelon with a dolup of vanilla yogurt and whipped cream. My breakfast was presented on a salad plate with a small serving of bland scrambled eggs and two over cooked sausage patties the size of a half dollar, and a tough, burnt on the bottom biscuit. The other choice was cornflakes. I wanted a bowl of oatmeal or a substantial breakfast yogurt parfait. The roof garden had no plants. The river view from the roof was virtually nonexistent. The pool area was inviting until you get to the pool. The water was cloudy. The floors leading to the stairs, the stairs and a large potion of my bedroom floor were very creaky making loud noise as you walk over them. I understand the house is a historic sight, so therefore very old, and it's going to have creaky areas, but when coming in late it feels as though one is waking everyone.
Summary: So, so Breakfast at a Bed and Breakfast.

Positive: The breakfast was delicious! The location was perfect for its historical significance. Christy was especially helpful in getting our reservation and giving us a wonderful, informative tour of the mansion.
Negative: Everything was wonderful!

Positive: Excellent breakfast served from 8-9AM. Good individual coffee maker in the room for early risers who need coffee before 8! We frequented the bar the night we arrived and enjoyed chatting with other guests and barkeep. The friendly owner Kendra made a point of greeting and visiting with each of us and telling us about the history of the mansion, including pointing out cannon balls that hit the house during the siege of Vicksburg. The period furnishings throughout the house were lovely. Guests have access to the amazing gentleman's parlor, a spacious front veranda, and a rooftop area overlooking the river. You really get a sense of history by staying at the antebellum Inn at Cedar Grove.

Positive: Beautiful, historical (including two cannon balls left from Civil war where they landed. The staff were amazing and we could walk around the whole house. The free breakfast was good and served beautifully. We ate the restaurant for dinner and it was first rate.
Negative: Our air conditioner was too cold in our room but we found out the next morning that we could have controlled it with a thermostat in the hallway.
Summary: Deep history, nicely restored, comfortable. We loved it!

Positive: What a pretty antebellum home! Beautiful bed and breakfast full of 1800s antiques. The room we stayed in was the John Klein Jr (room #5). King bed. Room was the perfect size for the 2 of us. The bathroom had a shower in it. The only thing I'd add is the shower floor is slippery and could use a mat inside for stability. The staff is extremely friendly and personable. There's a bar on property, and the restaurant served the most delectable pork tenderloin with a cognac peppercorn sause that was to die for!
Negative: I can't say that there was anything we didn't like.
